Building a Liverpool, layout question...

Post by Tdale »

I'm looking at the layout of the Liverpool, and have a couple of questions.

The first tube has the cathode resistor/bypass cap placed far from each other. The second half of the tube, actually has it's cathode network after the cathode resistor of the second tube..

Is there any reason for this? I guess it's not just placed there as a coincidence, so I'll follow the layout...but why?

Also. The second tube has no bypass cap on the cathode. Won't that be very trebly?

Here's the layout I drew. The cathode cap/res are C1/R2 off pin 8 and C7/R5 off pin 3 for V1 These are upstream from R8 off pin 3 for V2. Does this jive with your layout? This was the KF layout.
Yes, they're pretty bright. Glen Kuykendal (geeterpicker) uses two 20' guitar cords for extra capacitance to help tame his Express.

Yes, that's the layout I've been looking at.

Normally I would put the cathode networks of pin3 and pin8 of the first tube, right next to eachother, to eliminate the long wire from pin 3..
