If you model this little mod in Duncan you'll find out that the midscoop goes away completely. The only problem is that you gain about 8db IIRC. That may lead to farting out. So at the same time that you throw the Boost switch, you double the size of the slope resistor and get back to your original insertion loss. On my next two hole liverpool build I'll try it first with the 100k slope. Then add the other 100k if needed.
The other thought here is that if you were to just use the 200K slope resistor and leave out the mid boost it will loose about 5db. Maybe about like putting a 12AT7 in hole #1. The nice thing about it is that you get all the gain back by moving the bass and mid controls from 1 o'clock to about 4 o'clock. You'll get back the same contour as the original Express tone stack but shifted bassward a few hundred hz. What you will almost certainly get is just a little more rotation on the V pot before all hell breaks loose.
