Wow. I just noticed your location. I almost moved there I loved it so much. My cousins who were born and raised here in Garden Grove CA went there and stayed about 9 years. Dave and Vern Lewis. Shot in the dark but you never know. When I visited I got to jam with my cousins band. Hey do you remember Outta Line? !

Got a chance to fire it up...woohoo! dead quiet and rocks. I set the normally closed to gradual because that's the most useful in the Concorde. It the other way in the K60. With my shit startup tubes I've got great jangley cleans and Marshall on steroids I soften up my pick attack and she's clean again. Very good note separation. Can't wait to tube it correctly. I'll finish the foot switch tonight and report back!
Re: New KF-50 Done tonight...this ones mine!!!
Finished the footswitch. It works perfectly and is dead silent
There is no tone loss at all! Had to add the 'wreckish foot pedal design!

We want clips!
Especially switching between fast and gradual!

But,...the clips would be silent!LeftyStrat wrote:We want clips!

Hello all.
I saw the datasheet for PS7141.
Is there Any particular reason for using this device?
Will in your opinion any Photomos switch with 400v cabability and >50 mA be suitable for this application?
Thanks for any contribution on this matter.

Paolo, the high Voltage has been removed by the .1 caps. There is only a few milliamps of signal on the switch.

AFAIK, this device was my discovery -- which Dana and Allyn have picked up and are running with.pamaz67 wrote:Hello all.

(1) high voltage -- even if the DC is blocked, there's a lot of significant AC/signal in many places in a tube amp.
(2) high linearity -- even though these are basically being used as on-off switches, I do use them as series elements sometimes.
(3) moderate cost

Hey there, I just bought one of your amps. To be quite honest , it's amazing. Would this footswitchable fast/gradual switching be able to be retrofitted into one of your amps that doesn't have it? I'm assuming it would be, but not sure if you're interested in doing that stuff, and also not sure if I'd ever want to ship this out... I don't think I live too too far from where you are... Any chance you could shoot me an email at ericbr1@comcast.net ? Thanks for the interesting reading by the way on this forum! EricAllynmey wrote:Finished the footswitch. edit: No reply , but you posted 5 other times, so I guess you're not interested. I'll keep reading til you make them available for your amps.

It looks like the rectifier board is under the 5V supply board maybe.Noel Grassy wrote:Great job Allyn! I always enjoy your amp porn.Does this one have the tube rectifier under the small boards? Do the 5volt filaments power your SS device? This switching idea should be so much more useable. The maple/bubinga cab sounds friggin' regal! Did you score a lot of those PEC looking pots? Want to sell any?

Re: New KF-50 Done tonight...this ones mine!!!
This amp is using SS Diodes and the 5vac heater winding runs a 5vdc regulated supply mounted on top of the diode board. There is no DC high voltage on the mosfets and only 5 connections on the switcher board. GND, 5V, NC, Com and NO. It really is minimally invasive and only requires the hole for the original switch to be made larger to accept the 1/4" jack. It should be easy to install in any Komet by a good tech. We are looking into making these into a kit that can be used for any amp that has a 5v heater winding and needs a 2 channel switch or fast /gradual switch setup. The great thing is that it is trouble free, no relay points to wear out, pops, thumps, cracks or hum. We'll keep ya posted.skyboltone wrote:It looks like the rectifier board is under the 5V supply board maybe.Noel Grassy wrote:Great job Allyn!
