Can't quite crank it here at home but the cleans are really really nice.
Hum and hiss are impressively low compared to my marshall.
There is virtualy no 60hz ( I did do the filament flip between v1 and v2
a la francesca FWIW) and very little 120hz even at crazy amounts of gain.
This is a Ceriatone kit with Toneslut iron. I swapped out caps for
Mallory PVC and TC (got a bit tricky with available space.
Nik's main board is just abit longer than some I've seen)
Also got some very butch solid core teflon wire from Steve at Apex.
I think in the future I woud use stranded for the few runs that are 18 awg though.
Seems to be something funny going on with the presence control
and PI plate resistors are 100k and 91K as shipped from Nik.
Got a 10 turn pot on the way for bias and I might think about
a cut control. As we all know, 'real men play telecasters'
So there's plenty of tinkering left.
Probably wouldn't have accomplished this this if I hadn't found the amp garage.
Paul Ruby's notes on a first power up were espaecially helpfull.
Thanks to all the contributers.
And thank you Omar!
Now I've really got the bug -can't believe I missed out on the D'lite.

A guitar should never sound like a bee, a duck or, a chainsaw (well sometimes a chainsaw is alright )
Re: First build powers up without pyrotechnics
Congrats! If you can't do the D' Lite then there are a bunch of others killer amps out there to build.
Re: First build powers up without pyrotechnics
Yea. I'll probably get a chassis and boards from Funk and bumble
my way through a full size ODS
