Used Edcor 245 V PT Edcor Choke, A 470 OT. 2 150's and 4 6PS caps.
Sounds great - goes from clean to break up smoothly. RJ's chasis and Trans.

Re: New Build
It is nice, I will have to find time to work on my Rocket. I pulled it down when it wasn't working out. I have a few new ideas to try on it though.
Noise prior to the PI was my main issue. If I can get rid of that I'll be laughing!
This is what it use to look like.

Re: New Build
It looks good from here- what kind of noise? if you use a 12ay7 in the first tube does the noise get less?
Re: New Build
Looks like you've grounded half the smoothing caps to the same ground as the preamp board , whereas I believe they should be grounded at the same place as the other smoothing capacitors, down near the rectifier. It matters.Mark wrote:Noise prior to the PI was my main issue. If I can get rid of that I'll be laughing!

Re: New Build
The earthing is per Allynmey's Rocket clone which is taken from a Trainwreck Rocket amp. I have seen the other earthing in another real Rocket amp.
I went with the split earth as I wanted to keep the earth paths separate.
