Renamed Wreck Clones

Post by benoit »

Anyone checked out ceriatone.com in the last day or so?

On the main page the Wreck clones are now listed as the Expression and the Liver Pull.

I have to admit I laughed out loud a little..

Yeah, there has been a big brouhaha over on (some other site) about Niks TW clones.

IMHO a little oops on his part, and a big part lynch mob. Clone (and especially price) envy.

Yeah. Although I think Nik's reaction to the slip-up/lynch mob - changing to another logo on the faceplate and making it more obvious on his site that he's selling clones - was right on.

Agree. I did take specific note on the comments by professional amp/stompbox builders.

Agreed with some, but violently disagreed with others. The later will never, ever get my business.

Which is the lynch mob thread, the "Why are some clones outlawed . . ." one? Some of the silliest pretzel logic I've seen in a while, and I follow politics a bit.

FWIW, I just checked out the updated face plate--I actually find the Chinese dragon design more aesthetically pleasing than the old logo plates.

Ha!
These guys think they can have their cake and it it too! They chose a path which put at risk the very principles a GEAR DISCUSSION PAGE should follow, namely, the free exchange of information. They keep claiming that there's no hidden agenda behind their scheming, their changing of allegations every time forumites laughed them off as stupid. And they were specially virulent in their attacks to anyone who they thought had no 'clout' in their (yes it's theirs) community.
But let me ask you guys a simple, straightforward question - who gets as serious as these guys got (I mean they have NO sense of humour at all) if there's NO money involved? The question, of course, is rhetorical, it became very clear they were in for the kill, at least in their forum, of a competitor to their own merchandise. I also took notes of the guys who were blood thirsty, specially one ill-mannered lout who sells tubes. They will never, ever get my business, or anyone else I know, for that matter.
In the end it was those guys who chose money and false allegation over fair and honest.
I hope their money buys them nice graves (metaphorically speaking, of course).

They need to rename that site.....

Something like Gear Consumers Page.

Not very many old salty builders over there. Mostly politico-neofacist-wankers. And I mean that in the kindest manner.

Well, a lot of us hang over there a bit just to observe the utter nonsense. It is kind of entertaining, until it grates your nerves to a pulp.

Since I don't go to the Gear Page(don't wanna sign up), can you give me a hint so I don't do business with them either?
Thanks!

Yeah, jelle is right.
As the old saying goes "Never argue with an idiot. People looking at it might not know who is who". Let's STICK TO WHAT THIS FORUM IS ALL ABOUT - FREE, NO-NONSENSE, NO-BS, NO POLITICAL EXCHANGE OF PRECIOUS INFO. I still remember, back in the day, reading all the crap published in the so-called specialist magazines and having no one to talk to about what really makes an amp tick. For someone who studied electronics in high school just so he could better understand how guitar amps worked this forum is heaven sent. Please, let's keep it that way.[/b]

NO!!! C'mon Jelle, let's do this here!!!!!!

BWHAHAHAHA

As a longtime lurker, i have decided to get back into building, and stay away from TGP, mainly for the above noted reasons... It sure helped me spend lots of money, but my favorite amps after all was said and done were the ones i made myself.

SO now i guess i need a wreck! and to build a brake-diy so i don't end up divorced!!!!
