Say, are the chassis dimensions the same as a Trainwreck chassis? Thanks.
Great things happen in a vacuum
 Latest version
At the suggestion of a builder I have made some changes to the drawing to clarify some connections. Wire color changes and some notes. The new version is #12.

 Looks great!
This being my first post I'd like to say that the work done here is fantastic!
Is there a straight forward schematic for this build? I'd like to study the differences between this and a Wreck.

Re: Asteroid Layout
Does anyone offer a chassis for this build?

Re: Asteroid Layout
I second Tonewolf's request for a normal schematic. These layout drawings are wonderful for the build phase, but it really helps to have a schematic to understand the circuit. I agree that this is great work!!!

Although I have interest in amps....
I'd like this information to study and see how it ticks. It is a personal challenge to myself to build a solid state pedal to get as close as I can to the real amp. I'm open to advise as always.

galtjunk,
I believe Allynmey knows where to get chassis for this project. PM him.
Tonewolf,
ewww, you said the SS word. Check your pm box.

Yeah I know. I love tubes too but this is something I want to try before building a real amp. I have quite a few ideas and the pedal may come close for those that can't spend on an amp right now. [Ummm like ME]bnwitt wrote:galtjunk,

I just have to figure out how to bias each JFET or whatever I use to the correct percentage of the supply voltage. Any Ideas? Anybody?
Could I use the same voltage divider?
Re: Asteroid Layout
These guys took the idea from other sites and ran with it to sub JFETs for tubes.

This article shows how to replace a tube with a JFET (not perfectly, of course). Normal bias is 1/2 V+ (with a 9V supply, ~4.5V), but you should set it to ~4.5V, but then tune by ear (I used trimpots). This should help.

Re: Asteroid Layout
The inspiration for that site was a pedal by Doug Hammond called the "Meteor" which was an Express circuit in SS form.
