Brand new head cab PICS
Here it is. It was a fair amount of trouble, and looks nicer in the pictures than it really is. Oh well, as long as the amp SOUNDS sexy once I get it built and mounted in the cab I don't care much how it looks. In keeping with the sexiness to come, enjoy these pics taken... in bed!

Are you talking about a finger joint? where your ends look like the top of a castle wall and fit together? My ends are 45 degree miter joints (which I don't recommend trying). But I'll help all I can.. there are much more skiklled wood workers than I on the board as well, so ask away.Munga wrote:Nice job! I am gonna have to get your help when I start mine. For this being your first attempt it turned out quite nicely..
Re: Brand new head cab PICS
Thanks, I just wish I had money to drop on a quality biscuit joiner. If money weren't an option I'd prob go for the porter and cable, since the P&C stuff we have in our shop seems good and people here recommended it. Oh well, its just a matter of time.
Looks very good to me.
Hey Benoit,
Looks might fine to me. I assure you, my first try did not look that good. But I was using some old pine plywood.
Good job..

Re: Brand new head cab PICS
I just finished sanding my first TW head cab also. It a "dummy" to test techniques and fits before I cut into the figured maple. This dummy is out of scrap pine, really badly warped. I am going to stain it tommorow and hopefully lacquer it the next day. Tell me what you think.

I really like the look of that cab! It reminds me of the furniture my Dad used to build when I was a little kid.
Re: Brand new head cab PICS
Did you roll your own jig for the fingers or how was that done?

I like that pine cab! That would suit me great - I don't intend to put my Ceriatone in a super exotic wood cab for gigging...
I bet it turns out nice with a bit of stain etc...

I agree, I think it looks at least as good as, if not better than some of the exotic hardwoods.captain_rusty wrote:I like that pine cab! That would suit me great - I don't intend to put my Ceriatone in a super exotic wood cab for gigging...
