Any thoughts on the best way to add a line out to a Trainwreck Express?
Where in the circuit?
How best to implement this into the circuit?
As always your suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve

The liverpool Ginger had a line out. AFAIK this is the only amp that Ken put a line out on. It was just a 22k resistor coming off the speaker jack going into the top of a 1k pot. The bottom of the pot goes to ground and the wiper of the pot goes to the Line out jack and that's pretty much it

just for reference:

I'm not necessarily claiming these are compatible with a 'Wreck circuit, but there's some good info here.

Line out Ginger
Dana,
What should the 22k and pot be rated? (1 Watt?)
Have you used the line out on your Ginger clone? How did you use it?
I'm trying to use my TW Express (MaryBeth) as part of a WET/DRY rig.
Trainwreck > 4X12
Trainwreck > TC Electronics G-Major > Stereo Combo Amp (i.e. Crate VTX200S)
And blend the two on stage.
Do you think the "Ginger" route would be an acceptable method to accomplish this task?
Thanks,
Steve

Re: Adding a line out to Wreck Express
Steve,
I added a line out to my Airbrake build to do what I think you're wanting to do. I use the Airbrake as usual between my Express and it's cabinet (a 2x12 or 4x12 depending on the gig) and then I go line out to my delays, chorus and verb and back into another amp and cab. Sometimes I use a power amp which sounds cleanest but lately I've been using a Marshall JTM45/JCM800 hybrid into the low sensitivity input and it sounds killer.

Re: Adding a line out to Wreck Express
I sometime run a wet/dry rig with my original Express.
I run the 1st speaker jack straight to the 4x12 cab. The other speaker jack goes to a box I made with about a 20k-47k resistor in series and then that tied to a 1k resistor that goes to ground. You then take your hot off the top of the 1k, then the other side of the 1k is ground. You can experiment with the 1st series resistor to fine tune your line output level.
I use this to drive two Lexicon MX300s, then out into a Whirlwind 1 space 4 channel mixer, a 1 space ART SLA-1 power amp, then out to a 1x12 cab. Sound KILLER, and easily works with any amp setup.
