I just recently completed my first build. It worked, but for a Huge hum problem which was due to improper grounding scheme. No surprise there. That issue has been corrected. I used some transformers that I had on hand a Hammond 274BX power and a 50 watt marshall style output. I'm running about 515 V on the Plates of the EL34 output tubes.
Is it possible to reduce these voltages to where they need to be withought changing the power transformer?
Thanks in advance for any advice on this.

Re: HIGH PLATE VOLTAGES!!!
One way is to put a big chassis-mount (stud-mount) zener diode at the HV center tap.
Wife: How many amps do you need?
Me: Just one more...

can also use a resistor b4 the HV rectifier diodes. migh tnot be your cup of tea, though.
