The one and only Rocket Pacific transformer set I ever used was from rj.

A-470-s is not the correct transformer they were all built with one off sample iron. The correct transformer is the combined attributed of several great transformers. You will not be able to find correct OEM iron for the rocket.

wow lots of replies! haha still begs the question what are your favorites? Im not going to have the funds to be able to buy a few and try them out so trying to see which would be the best.

Just keep the PT around 500vct (250 to 300mA) and OT around 4k and you will build a very nice sounding Rocket. Use the Hammond 158L choke.

It's damn hard to screw up a Rocket build, very forgiving and great sounding circuit.
