Heck yeah--nice build!

I'll be posting pics of my not-so-good-looking Express soon...In the meantime, it would be great if you could talk about some of the details...specifically, I would love to know:

1 How you found that perfboard and "fleas"

2 What led you to lead the treble wire down & around like that

3 What sorts of things happened upon initial start-up and what you did about them

4 What chassis that is

It would be great for those who've had successful, good-sounding, can't-shut-it-off amps to discuss what made them that way, y'know? I promise I'll do my best to contribute that kind of stuff myself!

Bare wire from the volume control! Yeah!

Congrats on a verrry nice job.

Marvellous work, Allyn!!!

Will you post some clips in future?
What kid of sound do you prefer? an expresss, a liverpool or a K?
All are similar, all are different!

Which pre tubes do you use?

1 How you found that perfboard and "fleas"
A.Digging old distributors shelves and getting filthy
This is the perf and fleas that KF used after '89

2 What led you to lead the treble wire down & around like that
A. I'm not sure I follow you.

3 What sorts of things happened upon initial start-up and what you did about them?
A. Loud Rock and Roll! Honestly, I didn't have any trouble. I follow the proper wire and component layout and usually they startup fine.

4 What chassis that is?
A. Ceriatones chassis

I just wondered about the treble pot wire from the treble cap mainly because in the Francesca pics and the pics of the other unnamed amp the treble wire goes straight across toward the volume pot, runs along the ground buss wire, and then up to the treble pot.

I thought maybe the routing of your wire was in direct response to an oscillation or whatever....

Thanks for your answers!

Cheers

Actually that was the way I saw the wire in the Liverpool this one is modeled after. I've seen the older ones and the newer ones. It seems that you can follow KF's logical progress of building style when you've seen a few of them from different times. By the time the Liverpool I modeled this one after was built, KF started running wires under the power board.
