That is a good tip, I was thinking aluminum tape, but its pretty expensive for a roll, those disp. trays are cheap, thanks!

What I used looked like this. Had to flatten the surface but it worked well. Quite thick too.

So, what is it about the bottom cover? Does it act as a RF shield?

I think so. The Ron Worley build guide talks about it extensively. I think most if not all original KF built wrecks had one.

The 17" plates are Bud Industries part number BPA-1520 at Mouser. The bottom plares are really cool if you don't have the amp in a cabinet it keeps the chassis all sealed up! Huge help with noise reduction.

Ok. Finally I have the cab finish completed so I thought I would post photos here. Thank you very much to all the help provided on this thread and in the forum in general. Without all your help I could not have built this thing. It turned out great and I am truly happy with the outcome!!!

Minor todo items remain like the labelling on the back and a tube chart etc but for all functional purposes we are finally done!

Cab from RJ and faceplate from Selloutr by the way. Both great guys to buy from and to work with. Thank you very much!!!

Wow! that is one sweet build for sure! I love your cabinet finish and looks like your attention to detail has been exceptional from start to finish. I like the way you converted that traditional power cable to an IEC without having to hack up the chassis. Then to top it all off with a Stancor 3801 output transformer... really nice work!

For those that don't know MCK, he is a a really decent and patient man. He has been collecting parts and working on this build for what seems like a couple years now. The results are a good reflection of his hard work and focus... that is a really nice amp!

That works slick I learned that trick from the old time TAG members when we were using Allyn's chassis mainly.
