Output transformer question
I made a new message because my latest question probably is buried in the old thread too far. I found a 20 watt ultra linear OT in my pile off stuff I'd forgotten about. Can I splice it into the Express to check to see if the Heyboer I have is bad. If so, do I just leave the screen taps unhooked? This is just to check, not a permanent thing...

If it was me and I could do it safely, I would try it.
It should be quite clear if there is a difference between the OTs with the fault you have.

Yes, don't use them - pretend they are not there - and you will be fine. Do insulate the ends of them, however, because they are passing voltage
Most people stall out when fixing a mistake that they've made. Why?

Good luck Randy. Lot of smart folks here. Just posted my results in other thread.
