Hello,
Just a question for those with some experience with the TW Liverpool. I built a clone of the Liverpool and I think it sounds fantastic! I've been playing it for about a week now and finally let her stretch her legs tonight for close to a couple hours. When I went to shut the amp off I thought I'd check to see how hot the trannies were. The OT feels like it is at room temp but the PT feels like a hot cup of coffee. I'm not burning my hands here but it feels pretty hot.
My question is if this is normal for these style of amps?
I also used Pacific iron for my build, running tung sol in the preamp and JJ's in the power.
Any help on this phenomenon would be greatly appreciated.
Andrew

Re: Liverpool PT Temp??
From what I understand, if you can keep your hand on it, you are ok.

Yes. Even though the PT is overrated I do find that my Express PT gets quite hot after a few hours of use. Nothing to worry about, just give you amp a break every few hours to help reduce any extended heating related problems.

Re: Liverpool PT Temp??
Thanks guys!
I just wanted to be sure that I wasn't the only one who found this as well. I have built a few amps so far and this PT seems to get the hottest out of them all.
Like I said, the amp sounds great but I didn't want to be running it hot if nobody else was.
Thanks again,
Drew
