New Liverpool Build

Post by passfan »

Here is my new Liverpool, Cabinet and all. Spent the day tweaking it in the studio. I'm running a Telefunken smooth plate in V1(paralleled) and Mullards in the rest. Using a matched set of Mullard reissues in the output. This thing flat out sings through a 4-12. All in all it's been a great day. On the way home I stopped at the local GC and hanging on the wall was a used 99' Les Paul Standard for 1199.00. I talked them down to 1150.00 out the door. Got home and found out it's a 94'. Been wanting one of those and it plays like a wet dream. Even got it cleaned up, serviced and intonated for free.

Great looking head cab!

I love the wide spaced dovetails!

I've got a plan to do some unusual jointery work once I get back to cabinet making. I hope my work looks as good as yours!

That looks like the Weber "cloth covered wire". How is that working out for ya?

No difficulty, no noise, and fast.

This is the "lacquered" wire from AES that never seems to have enough lacquer. Other than the odd strands of cloth that have to be trimmed it's fine, and is easier to work with than solid. I do a few things differently that I've found work out better for me either being easier or lowering the noise level more.

As with just about everything I build (there have been many), this too will eventually find it's way to the for sale section. So if anyone wants to pm an offer I would consider it. I'm always building something and I have 5 or 6 amps in my stable right now.
