Iron for the different Trainwreck amps

Post by Fischerman »

I've done a search but didn't find the answer. I'm trying to get info on the transformers used for the different Trainwreck models.

For PTs I've seen the:
260-0-260 @ 300 mA
and the
300-0-300 @ 300 mA

I see you can get a dual secondary PT with both of these voltages (I actually have one). Which voltage is for what? Is it 300 for the Express and 260 for the Liverpool and Rocket?

For OTs I've seen the:
5K2 primary
and the
6K6 primary

And it appears you can get a dual primary OT with both of these primary impedances. Which primary impedance is for what? Is it the 5K2 for the Express and the 6K6 for the Liverpool and Rocket?

And what about the choke in the Rocket...any info on that?

I've got an extra dual-secondary PT and an extra oddball OT (MM Hiwatt 50W OT with the same footprint as the Express OT) and I'm wondering what to build with them. I plan on building a Dumble ODS soon as well...but I thought maybe the PT wasn't right for the Dumble...but I'm not sure the OT is right for any of the TWs. Should I save the Hiwatt OT for the Dumble (with a Fender-ish PT) and then buy another OT for the Trainwreck (which would be one of the 4xEL84 models...I'm building an Express right now with other trannies from Heyboer...300 PT and 5K2 OT...no 'dual' windings on these).

Thanks for any help.
