That input jack is from www.mojotone.com and has metal threads. There is another one that has plastic to isolate from chassis.

Mikey I was looking at some blue dye but too freaking busy right now to even think about wood working  Thanks for the info and your cab looks great thanks for the photo.

Bill I really like that Navy blue and right after Lopoline built my cab they were out and I don't stocking anymore. Oh well! I like blue or red but have so many red cabs right now. :)

Oh seafoam green is on my list for an Allen Amp type maybe the Encore.

I may be a little late to the party, but it there a layout/schematic for these Zwreck style amps? I see several people building them, but have yet to see what they are building them off of.

Thanks!

Jason we are building these off a gut shot of the Zwreck from a EU site which Dr Z said was an overseas version of the Zwreck. Dr. Z provided some information on the amp.

It is a TW Rocket with updated design such as physical layout differences, softer filtering 8uf verses 22uf and has a 220k/220k voltage divider added. The values are slightly different from a Rocket but not much.

Ok, that's what I thought. I guess I'll just have a look at the rocket info then.

Thanks!

As Mark said, the information is available to build a Z Wreck (Rocket variant), but out of respect for Dr. Z (who is a member here and who has been very generous and not made big deal of it) and since the amp is being currently produced, a schematic has not been made publicly available. This is the gentlemen's agreement of AmpGarage.

Love seeing your build threads Mark.

Sounds like you're close to the Fargo area, yeah? I'm possibly planning a trip up there to see my grandma and uncle before the end of August - maybe we could have a meeting of the minds and I could play your Z-wreck. :)

Mark,

Mine sounds fantastic! I could not have chosen a better amp to build that suits my taste. My cab is loaded with a Celestion blue 15w and a WGS Blackhawk 50w. I had a full band rehearsal the other night with our new second guitar player who was playing through his Peavey 50 Classic.
By the end of the night he wanted to know how much for me to build one for him, No kidding. I won't be building any to sell.

As for the choke, I went with the Rocket choke - 158L. I have been reading your posts about choke choice and have got myself a 159P to try (out of curiosity).
The 159 is a slighlty larger size so i may have to re position it due to it being to close to the PT and OT. Place it as per Stangray, Prescription etc. I was going to change it this weekend so i will let you know what i find.

Cheers,

Rich

Rich,

I used the Hammond 159Q 7hy 150mA choke. On my recent Rocketeer I used the Hammond 158L standard choke for Rocket build. Either one sounds good but not totally sure which is more appropriate.

Sounds like you have a great build especially when people like the tone.

Love my Wreck it's so freaking smooth sounding.

Finally mounted in the head box, yeah I know, I'm slow.

Also cut the front wood valance, will do final sizing, sanding, and staining.

Winter is here so I'm getting long over looked projects done.
