No-

The secondaries have the standard rotary switch (4/8/16)

I am talking about switching the 5k2 vs. the 6k6 primaries.
.........Now where did I put it?

I think this topic comes up every so often, and I tried out the 6k6 tap (Toneslut tranny) for the first time last time:
https://tubeamparchive.com/viewtopic.ph ... ht=#144562

But I ended up returning to the 5k2 on mine because I felt I wanted more bark and bite ability in my particular 'pool with some headroom (since I have vvr anyways).

I was considering having it on a switch too, but I got scared off of it by general opinion that nothing would be reliable enough...
In the end, I figured that I preferred(or was used to??) the 5k2 so much more that I wouldn't need the 6k6 option anyways

I remembering telling people the Liverpool used a 6.6K primary when this site was a Yahoo site. Ah, vindication!

Thanks Mark - now I've got to check what I did with my Pools.
Think I used a DPDT toggle switch as a 5k2/6k6 selector on one.

Why did the elders establish that the Rocket was 4k3, Liverpool 5K2 and Express 6k6? It seems this has been a great debate since I first joined this forum.

mystery to me too, especially when Pacific said Ken only used the 6.6 k for Express and Liverpool, but i remember Ken saying the Pool was 5.2 or close to it. I have early Stancors in a Liverpool and Express....same exact output tranny....(Grey )

I think the thing to remember is that we hadn't seen any Trainwreck amps and all info came from people wishing to help us. I emailed EVERYONE who could assist us. The group deemed 5.2K was more probable. I disagreed as the person assisting me stated 6.6K was the value.

I am going to be rebuilding my Liverpool since I borrowed the PT for another project. Got cherry cab being built for it.

I will use the pacific iron set for with 6k6 OT and see if I like the change from 5k2 to 6k6.

Stancor A-3800 was standard with a few A-3801 (Special Edition Liverpools which used Heyboer PT's)

Unless I come across a local Stancor transformer I'm sticking with new production Pacific trannies. :)

Lordy I hate Ebay prices.

Keep us in the loop Mark. I'd be interested to hear your findings even better if there is a recording to effectively demostrate the differences, but I know that can be tough.

It just occurred to me that the power should be lower at 6K6. Anyone tested this?

Here is a pic of Tammy from behind.

For the sake of pointing it out Look at the picture frame trim on the front and back of the head cabinet.
