I had heard said the 470 dynaco ot transformer was a favarite of many and I thought if Im not mistaken wasnt that out of a high fi amp.

Re: Anyone used a hifi OT for a trainwreck
Please forgive me for not knowing what that is, is it preferable in a wreck.
I just got a great hi def OT 2k for a quad of 5881,s or 6l6,s for a very good price thought I might build a wrecked Rocket with it.
my idea of a great 2 channel amp ,one pre amp wreck, one pre amp rocket should sound interesting side by side one with the tone stack v1a other on v2a.
Thanks Bill

The HI-FI stancors are usually BO series or 80 series like 8056.
here is a link to the transformer data for some stancors.
I have used or tried an 8056 and it sounds very good.
Also usually the HI-FI transformers are mostly 8 and 16 ohms.
If you find a cross reference sheet, their are others that you might look for like Merit or Chicago etc.. some have the same model number and are or look to be identicle.
