I'd been struggling to obtain full output power in a Non-NFB Plexi with an added Cut control (ala Komet/Vox), but found the solution after looking at the K60's phase inverter.
Once I determined that the Cut control was loading down the PI, I tried a few things to increase the drive, and the trick was raising the PI's B+ to 450vdc, putting around 300 on the plates of the PI, just like the Komet design!
I'm thinking that without doing this, there's no way the Komet could've gotten full power either. Any thoughts on this, or do you think the voltages were increased for tonal reasons, and the increased power was incidental?
