Guys,
I currently have an open back 2x12 that is ok with the Express but kinda boomy with the rocket. I have played both through a custom 2x12 closed and they sound great.
Question, I have the opportunity to buy a Mesa 2x12 closed (horizontal) unloaded at a very good price.
Does anyone have any negative experiences with these cabs and Trainwrecks? I will initially load with Eminence Private Jacks.
Cheers
Mick

Re: Mesa 2x12 with Express/Rocket
I've had a Rocket and Express, both very well built, and run them through various cabinets and speaker configurations (I have about 8 cabinets in my basement). I find that closed back in general sounds tighter.
I believe Ken was a big fan of 4X12 cabinets - which of course were closed back.
The Mesa Boogie cabinets are well made, you really can't go wrong.

Raven, thanks for the reply.
I went ahead and grabbed it, figured I could flip it if I didnt like it.
The cab turned out to be a great option for the Rocket, kept most of the nice cleans and when driven the bottom end stayed tight.
