Here are some large pics (before the PI resistors were corrected):

Nothing is jumping out at me at the moment on your pictures but forgive me if this has already been asked and I missed it.

Have you checked your voltages with the comparison chart in the TW files section? You may find a problem faster going that route especially V1 and V2 voltages if your getting early distortion.

Yeah, I'm with Mark. You could very well have your power lines crossed, too much voltage in the front end, etc. The voltage chart needs to happen.

I have to say the build is very vintage looking with the board. Also the chassis is kinda different. Did you have that made? Well, it all looks pretty good, nice job, NYC. Q: Why do you have that resistor on pins 1 & 8 on your power tubes? Are these for your biasing needs? Are they 1 ohm?
Most people stall out when fixing a mistake that they've made. Why?

I think that may be a Ceriatone chassis.

I assumed those were 1 ohm resistors tied to pins 1 & 8.

And how would those 1ohm (?) resistors affect NYC's bias readings if he's using a weber bias gizmo?

I thought most bias checkers have the 1 ohm built in from what I have read, mine does.

That's what I'm thinking...maybe this is slightly affecting his readings. I don't really know how the weber unit works...don't have one.

Hey guys,

Sorry for the delay in not getting back. I subscribed to this thread, but I guess emails don't get generated for replies after the first page. Didn't realize people had replied recently.

Yes - those are 1 ohm resistors. I also don't know the details of the Weber Bias rite. I guess it makes sense that it also uses a 1 ohm resistor since it measure cathode current. I guess I'll take out these 1 ohm resistors on the output tubes and re-check. Not sure what the effect is on bias readings.

Yes - I'm going to get some voltage readings. Today hopefully.

Not sure where the chassis came from. It seems a little thicker than a Ceriatone.

Again thanks for all the help!

Just leave them in and measure with your DMM.
