My Express build named Flo....finished the cabinet
Here's a shot of the cabinet I built. It's "Bocote'" from Mexico. I'm happy.

Some wild grain in that wood!:D
Looks great!
What type of finish did you apply to it?
This is one of the reasons I love the TW clones.
Some of you guys really go the extra mile on the head cabs with beautiful exotic woods.

How thick is that chassis faceplate

Nice Cabinet! I love Bocote for woodworking. You did superb job on that one. Bocote has a weird smell when you cut it, kind of spicy smelling, eh.
You wont have to worry too much about dings either! Extremely hard.

Hi Folks. Thanks for kind words! The cabinet is all approximately 3/4" in thickness, and the control faceplate is about 5/16". It's 3 coats of wipe on poly from Minwax, sanded with 400 between coats, 0000 steel wool for the final, then 3 coats of Briwax dark wax. As mentioned it is a "spicy" aroma and very hard. (..and heavy, 36lbs total).

I like the matching AirBrake cabinet. Seeing one of these finished always makes me want to build another amp.

That is excellent mitering on the corners. I would be confined to a rubber room by now if I attempted to do that.
Thanks for the photos. Your choice of wood is really cool too. Very nice. I was thinking of bocote or ziricote for some guitar fretboards. The bocote I saw didn't look as nice as your cab.
