Hay guys,I'm doin' last part for my build,a face plate, and I got few questions.
Are 2" x 17" good measures? I got chassis from Ceriatone,so I'm just wondering.
Is 1/16" thin enough?

17" x 2" is standard. Check Mark Abbott's layos for more info (should be somewhere in the files section here).
Re: Designing a faceplate
traditional faceplates are 1/8th and require the long shaft pots or the faceplate mounting holes to be sunken.
1/16th works with normal shaft pots.

Re: Designing a faceplate
I'll made it from 1/16" then,maybe a walnut,will see l8r.
Thx for the tips guys,I made it first in 2" x 17" dimension, then I added it to a another file sized same as a opening for front panel in head box.
I took those dimensions from tw cabinet plans on this site.
I hope it will all fit on paper, then I'll make it on wood this week.
I'm planing on doin' back panel too, just need to find some good measures for power chord jack.

Andy,
If you can get good1/16" stock it eliminates the trouble with having to use the long shaft pots. Most wood guys I deal with claim they make a lot of scrap in attempting to make the 1/8" panels.
I have some expensive panel nuts with an extended internal thread that work with the 8mm ALPHA pots. This lets you get the wod as thin as you can and then use the more affordable pots no matter what that panel thickness is.
Post up a photo for us when you make some progress, I'd enjoy seeing how it comes out.
