Get a kit, or source it myself?

Post by jcr1234 »

I was looking for a complete parts list for the Express, including caps and resistors, but I couldnt find it in in the documentation section. Am I missing it?

I considered ordering a Ceriatone kit, but I think I would rather use other caps (Sozo) etc.

I will definitely get the chassis from Nik, but are there any opinions as to the quality of his other components?
Thanks,
Jon

The parts list is called the BOM in the Express documentation section.

Most people around here will tell that most of the parts from Ceriatone are just fine, the transformers though are lacking. If you get a kit, get your transformers from someone else, plus it will save you a decent amount money on shipping costs.

RJguitars or Allenmey have great chassis and the correct transformers.

The BOM will come up when you open or download the Layout.

I have used all three at one time or another but to keep it easy and in the USA I order from Allynmey and rjguitar for my chassis and transformer orders.

Take your time and READ! If someone who obviously knows told you it is there, then it is there. Read the bottom of the page.

I am not sure you belong here with your juvenille name calling. You know nothing about me. I do know however that I really doubt you are ready for an Express build. An Express requires great attention to detail. Save your name calling for your other playground buddies.

I never said I knew anything about you, I simply said you should lighten up.
So lets see here, who lacks the attention to detail ?

If you are looking for help here, you might want to reconsider your approach. There are many good helpful folks here. I doubt that they appreciate being called a dickhead though.

Just sayin.......................

personally i prefer "asshole" thank you!

McRacer has a very good point. this build is not for the fender or marshall guy who thinks he can put lead "a" into hole "b" and end up with a great amp without issues. the Wrecks require a measure twice, and cut approach. then pray it likes you. If you aren't 100% sure you can focus don't build this amp!!! unlike most amps every little thing you use and or do matters greatly to the amps outcome.. there are ZERO "0" corners you can cut! if you do need help try to be respectful most guys on here that chime in have more important things to do then offer assistance to brats, like building AMPS!.

I apologize. I was having a bad day and unfortunately, mcrracer caught the flak.

I feel badly about calling him a dickhead and offer my apologies. I know that kind of behavior is not acceptable here and it wont happen again.

Sorry to all,
Jon

I accept. It takes a big guy to recognize his error and acknowledge it. Welcome to our world Jon. I for one will be happy to help you from here on out.
