ceriatone...are the parts/layout same as original?

hi,
new to this forum, im an electronics student (Age 30...better late than never..) and thinking of building an express clone. I live in Australia though so not sure how easy its going to be to get authentic (or close enough to..) original spec parts without buying from OS and paying big $$$ in shipping. Buying pre-assembled parts in bulk from ceriatone might be an option. However thats obviously not as fun. Just wanting some opinions on how these ceriatone kits compare in sound, circuit layout, components etc to the original spec express models? Forgive my ignorance I have not done a lot of research on this topic yet, just wanting some opinions. Any other Aussies here who've built one of these things? If so how did you go getting parts? regards, dane
