Correct potentiometers
I'm not sure I completely understand the original pots used in the tw amp
this is what I think I understand
they were made by cts at first. Then some where alpha. The cts were custom made of sorts kind of a chose your own adventure the shafts were 3/4" standard diameter and 30% taper and called ( pick-a-shaft )?
If anyone has a part number for what exactly was used it would get a great help!

Re: Correct potentiometers
My amp used all AB/Clarostat pots and aside from a dead spot near the extreme end of the volume pot (was a well used pot), I think they fit the amp well. You do have to bend down the legs to make them usable, otherwise they get too close to the lip of the chassis. Not a big deal, just something to be aware of. With ground lugs, they fit Allyn's chassis well and make for a cleaner looking build compared to soldering to the pots IMO.
I got the taper for the TMB pots right but I don't know what the volume and presence tapers were. I think both are linear but they still "feel" fine when adjusting the amp.

the clarostats work and sound great but they are not the original pots used by trainwreck.
I'm really just interested in trainwreck date code correct part numbers not clone parts.
if you want a great pot for the clones try the 30% taper allen bradly pots a member of the forum is selling.

Re: Correct potentiometers
Yeah, it was now that you bring it up. Did you ever find any 500KA pots? I pm'd you about two months ago, when you first posted the sale, and never heard back. I figured your supply was pretty limited or you didn't have any - but I never heard from you. So what do you have for 500KA AB pots?

Re: Correct potentiometers
I don't think I could ever find any. The stuff I have is pretty random and there are some useful values that seem to be nonexistent in my stash.
