Looks like 250mA is the lowest you would want to go.

180mA is the absolute minimum you can use, but you get a certain ammount of stiffness and attack from having 300mA on tap when you only need 180mA.

I have a 160mA 0 - 275 (no ct) on my wreck clone which uses 6V6's that is perfectly suitable for 6V6 but it's not true wreck style, Im going to order an Edcor from RJ Guitars which has 250mA 280 - 0 - 280 (equivalent to 300 from other brands) so I can use EL34s at some point.

300-0-300 150mA = Ideal for a '58 tweed tremolux (5G9) (assuming you have a 5V winding @3A, in addition to the 6.3V winding)

I made that transformer list based off known data here on TAG but I have to admit I recently built the Gibson EH150 two 6L6 ,6N7, and three 6SQ7 tubes the PT is 175mA 375-0-375 and that amp is loud and proud to be heard.

I realize I always use what Allynmey and rjguitars offer as the correct transformers but it has me wondering sometimes about mA in the transformers.

Looking through the various Hammond transformers I notice they are really low spec so I have stayed away from them until I did the EH150 and had no choice since it was the only tranny I could fine at 375v.

Just saying.
