The amp sounds very good. Well done.Yeah, I guess as long as you don't overdrive the output tubes too hard, you can get a good bass response out of pretty much any tube, as long as your tone stack & coupling caps are chosen carefully. Thanks! I'm really out of practice; I stopped playing like 10 or 15 years ago, and just picked it back up last year when I started building amps. And yeah, I've been a big Rush fan since like 1980 (Farewell to Kings was my first Rush album that I heard/bought). ....also tried some 6L6 & EL34's in there and it sounds very good w/those too. The 6L6's seem to have a more scooped sound, and the EL34's are, well, EL34's (My favorite tube type actually for overdrive sounds; I like the thick overtones the EL34 produces, and those middy tones I associate w/the "British" 70's & 80's metal sound.)
