TWreck Charateristics

Post by DerStever »

Since I'm pretty much still a newbie to this - what are the differences between the various flavors of Trainwrecks? And which would be the most in the way of overdrive or distortion?

I finally solved my volume issues with the amps I use - its called THD Hotplates! I wanna build a Wreck but want one that has an afterburner and say goodbye to my Fulltone and HotCake Distortion pedals... oh yeah I'm a single coil guy so no humbuckers here (although my Tele Thinline uses Joe Bardens).

Thanks in advance.

I took my Express to its first jam last night, and gave it a kick around the block. I was playing my PRS Santana SE. This guitar has had its pups changed to Duncan the 59/JB combo, and I plit the coils and installed push pull pots. So, I was able to easily switch back and forth between single coil and humbucker arrangements last night.

All I can tell you is that the Express gets very nasty (in a good way) with the 'buckers. But thats not to say that the amp didn't like the single coils - it sounded wonderfull.

Since I already have an amp with EL84's, I am not (at the moment) that interested in a Liverpool. But the Express is sure making me smile.
