So, my build is making use of a salvaged chassis and cabinet from an early 70's Univox head (those blue ones). I know, I know, most of the guys here are more pure in their Trainwreck efforts, but what can I tell you. I am no woodworking artisan, and besides, I have a matching blue Univox cabinet, so this is the path I am on.
Anyway, I have stripped, cleaned and repainted the chassis, and made myself a new faceplate (blue of course), and I am about ready to begin the chassis wiring.
So, here is my question - The Univox had more tubes in its former life than an Express does, not to mention the multicap cans it used, so there are several unused holes in the chassis. Are there any good reasons for covering them? Weber makes tube socket covers/slugs, but at $5 each, I'm not sure its worth the $40+.
All thoughts are welcome.
Oh, here are my build photos so far: http://music.sliberty.com/uniwreck. The chassis is sitting on the head cabinet
Thanks,
Steve

Lowes sells them for about a buck.

What section in Lowes has them? I'll go looking tomorrow at that price. I take it you had no opinion one way or the other about whether to bother closing the holes..
