Re: vibrato not working
I did swap tubes and the pots seem to measure okay. The voltage is there as well. I'll test the caps this afternoon. Thanks for the advice!

Hey Mark! The trem jack is a rca jack for the footswitch. By the way, I still want to hear your amp!

vibrato not working
Just wondering if anyone out there had any advice on this. I can't get the vibrato working on my Fender 5f11. I've done basic continuity tests but no luck. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Re: 61 tweed fender
Yeah, I would consider a trade. I have to quit playing through it because I'm really starting to like it. I'm not a collector and I think the best thing to do is leave it the way it is and let the next owner decide what to do with it. some of the tweed needs to be glued back down on one side and it ...

Re: Old valve radio
I picked up a 1939 Hallicrafter shortwave radio a few months back for $40 just to tinker with and soon realized that I didn't need a shortwave radio. I also thought about the ipod idea just for laughs, but the cabinet is so cool, I thought I would build a tube amp with it. I'm still trying to decide...

Re: 61 tweed fender
well, I got curious after a few weeks of just looking at this amp and decided to check all my voltages and they were all within spec. So I went after it with a chopstick and found a bad connection on one of the pre-amp tubes(thank you marcoloco!). The clean tone is pretty sweet and sure enough, it b...

Re: 61 tweed fender
I'll try to attach some pics. Hope it works. Also,PT code is 125p1a 606029. I read these the best I could with a mirror and flashlight so they might be off a bit. I could not find a number on the OT. Would it have been on a sticker? If so, it's long gone. The tube chart shows KA for dating and the s...

Re: 61 tweed fender
I was wondering about the selenium rec. What is it for? Vibrato? Also, can you run these old amps wide open with the original OT?

Re: 61 tweed fender
Thanks for the advice. I'll post some pics. It's a 5F11 with the original jensen speaker. Funny thing is, my wife is not sure that it's worth the 200 bucks that I paid for it.

61 tweed fender
Hello all! New member here! I just purchased a 61 tweed vibrolux in pretty decent shape. It looks all original with the exception of one metal-film resistor(between the first two filter caps). also, all tubes have been replaced. The tubes glow and very little sound comes out. The original Astron fil...
