CTS Pot codes
I've got some CTS Pots with #'s 137942 and 77-001-367. I thought CTS pots had a 7 digit code of 137xxxx with last two digits representing the week and the middle digits representing the year. I'm inclined to think that these pots are from the 42nd week of 1959. They came from an old Bogen M330 catho...

Multi Section Capacitor
Hey all,
I need to replace an old 30/20/10/10 350V multi section can. The closest I can find is a 30/20/20/20 525V. Would this be a decent substitute? The amp is an older Dukane PA 1b665 with 1 5y3, 2 el84 and 1 6k11.

Older Radioshack Speaker
I have an older (I'm guessing 70's) bright red/orange 12 inch 8 ohm speaker made in the USA by Realistic/Tandy Corp. for Radio Shack. There is no indicated wattage rating. It works, but there are a couple of tears on the cone. I'm just wondering if this is worth fixing. Anyone ever use one or know a...

Re: Hot Rod Deville Blown Fuse/Burning Smell
So I changed the filter caps, mounted those power resistors off the board with a bit of silicon, touched up all of the solder joints on the power tube sockets and put in a new pair of JJ 6l6's. Just finished playing a gig with it and had no problems whatsoever. I also did a couple of simple mods fro...

Re: Hot Rod Deville Blown Fuse/Burning Smell
Thanks for the info. Are you referring to the pair of 330 ohm 5W power resistors? Could a failure of those resistors cause the problem I described?
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Re: Hot Rod Deville Blown Fuse/Burning Smell
Thanks for the help guys, this is a more detailed description of what happened and what I've done so far to troubleshoot: 1. After playing for about two hours my tone started to lack highs. 2. Within 5-10 minutes I noticed a significant volume loss. 3. Seconds later there was no sound, and as I appr...

Re: Hot Rod Deville Blown Fuse/Burning Smell
I pulled the board out and checked those 330 ohm 5W resistors. There was some discoloration of the copper trace in the pcb but both resistors measured around 330 ohms. At this point I can only assume that bad solder joints are to blame. Any idea why these would cause the amp to blow the fuse and sme...

Re: Hot Rod Deville Blown Fuse/Burning Smell
Thanks guys. Would it be wise to replace those resisters with something that can take a little more heat?
