What temperature do you guys solder at. I recently bought a used soldering station that has a temperature readout and was wondering.

Can I use mallory polyester film capacitors on a express build or should I use the orange drop.Every one says not to use the polypropylene but that is the one that most places sale.

I would like to get my hands on the comet files if any one would be so kind.

Does any one here use a bias probe to check the bias on a rocket amp. if so what do they usually read on a 2 hole rocket in millivolts.

sounds like you have a bad power tube .Try a new one and see what happens

Does some one have a layout for a tophat.

Are there any great amps that I can build with these transformers?

Here are the specs on the transformers.

Power transformer
450 vdc @ 270mA
6.3 vac 3.75 a

Would transformer set from a fender blues deville work with this build?

What I need to know is can I use the 600 volt caps,does it affect the sound of the amp, what is the reason they use the 250 volt caps in these positions

I'am in the process of ordering capacitors for my 5f6 bassman amp build and I see on the layout and the original fender schematics that 2 of the capacitors are rated at 250 volts instead of 600 volt how important is it.can I use the 600 volt capacitors instead of the 250 the capacitor on the presenc...

If you where going to build a 5f6-a bassman amp what caps would you use orange drops or mallory ?

fixed the problem with the rocket by moving the output transformer over with the power transformer .
