Re: C-lator vs Fuchs Verbrator
It's nice to have the parallel loop option of the Verberator when you run rack effects

Re: Lets Talk About V1 Tubes
Mullard took over V2.
Nothing I have can beat the bugle boy in V1
Sounds similar to the 183 with these tubes.

Re: Lets Talk About V1 Tubes
Amp is sounding good with a Bugle Boy V1, Mats V2, RCA V3, Current GT balanced pi tube in the PI.
That's 2 euros, 1 American, 1 China.
Although I liked the Penta & JJ...I have a more refined and complex tone with these.

Re: Lets Talk About V1 Tubes
OK well you guys are gonna be shocked that I am actually liking an old Penta an an old JJec83s in V1 and V2 respectively. Some well reputed american nos got bumped by those tubes which were 'just laying around'. The penta is actually a sweet display of all the wanted frequencies and a fair amount of...

Oh yeah...thanks...a longplate!LeftyStrat wrote:For new production, give the JJ EC803 a try. Seems to have added chime over the JJ ECC83.
Most of my NOS preamp tubes go in the opposite direction, more butter than clang; Mullards, Eico (rebranded Mullard, I think).

Lets Talk About V1 Tubes
What do ya like for bright and punchy...
Right now I'm running a full set of discontinued GT12AX7-M Mullard reissues, and using an eq to boost high mids.
Thinking about a current Tung Sol, or old RCA or Old Raytheon Baldwin for V1
