This conversion is a simple vandalism.

It's glass version of 6L6, which oryginally has metal shell. (G - glass)

6L6 = 6L6 G =/= 6L6 GC.
6L6 is rated about 19 watts dissipation, 6L6 GC about 30 watts.

Caps on both sides are separators for DC. Without them bias of power tubes will "floating" with MV adj...

It's bias circuit, don't touch it and don't change anything or you're gonna kill power tubes.

Necessarily replace the socket. This carbon trace can kill output tubes and transformer (if they are not dead yet).
