Re: Re - Small Special Build

I changed my NFB resistor from metal oxide to carbon comp... Kept the value at 100R. It sounded better, smoother, but was still very rowdy. I was surprised at the ease of breakup with this amount of NFB, but it is what it is.

Re: Tonex useful captures

I'd take it with more latency for two reasons.
1) I don't think that little more latency would really be human-brain detectable.
2) They flexibility for recording would be a nice plus.

Yes, what he said - two channel unit with loop access between the channels.

Re: Tonex useful captures

What about... Capturing the preamp of your souped up, hot rod of an amp... take the signal from what is or would be the effects loop SEND. Then, separately capture the power amp of said amp feeding in at what is or would be the loop RETURN. ? Then you could run a Tonex One for your pre > modulation ...

Re: Shielded Wire

I have several spools of some really great coax. Double shielded (braid and wrap), 20 gauge fine stranded center conductor. I have two colors, black and silver/gray and a total of about 10,000 feet. This is great stuff. I have a datasheet attached below for similar coax but this stuff isn't as flex...

Re: 65amps SoHo

Point one... Nope... Signal is on the other (left) side of the jack. The right side supplies ground to signal path when the cable is not inserted. As regards the power tube cathode set... You are correct. Another case of copying and pasting to get the topology right, then forgetting to correct the v...

Re: 65amps SoHo

1) It is connected from the jack ground to the chassis ground on the front panel. 2) Yep, that's the way they built it. 3) Nope... it is 1000p 4) Yes, I'm pretty sure. I'll do this when I pull it back out again... may be a while. 5) Nope. Single resistor and cap for the EL84 cathodes. 6) Yes. Look a...
