Re: RIP Eddie Van Halen
Not to question this thread being in Garage Talk, but I swore Eddie's perhaps most listened to solo was through a Dumble Amp. I swore legend had it when they asked Eddie into the studio to cut the "Beat It" solo that he plugged into a Dumble. I thought I even saw this mentioned before on this Forum....

Re: Mick Taylor's with Little Feat
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5E-OJqrKCJA A 1970's slide guitar duet featuring one guitarist known for playing Dumbles. Not sure if this is the reference cited above, but it was interesting to see Lowell and Mick trading slide licks. Not a Crossroads style head cutting by any means, but interestin...

Re: BB King in Home Hospice
I have seen BB at least seven times. The first was in the late 80's and he was fierce and powerful, but in a non aggressive way. He just ruled the place. A guy came in a gorilla mask, being a drunk goof and BB gently but firmly put him in his place, a true gentleman. One of my favorite times, John H...

He's not Muddy Waters but I thought he was pretty good.
George Harrison and Paul McCartney seemed to like Carl Perkins. Underrated or just perhaps a little too long ago?

Not sure if Henry of Redplate Amps is still active here. I haven't seen him for a while, but I remembered he had high praise for the ramrod. https://tubeamparchive.com/viewtopic.php?t=7107&highlight=ramrod I have also been wondering about eminence's DELTA LITE II 2510, but no reviews I have heard of...

Re: MY COFFEE MAKER BROKE
Consider Cold Brewed Coffee. Once brewed you can throw in microwave to heat. Of course the red hot steel into the cup method could also be used if you still want that cowboy feel. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cold_brew http://www.americastestkitchenfeed.com/do-it-yourself/2011/08/how-to-make-cold-b...

Re: Big rehash - Strat into Dumble - what really works
https://tubeamparchive.com/viewtopic.php?t=20864&highlight=clapton Just to offer this up. Some good discussion here, but yes clapton isn't using what i would call a standard strat and some people aren't crazy about his tones recently. And I don't think he has been using what I would consider clean t...

Rumor has it 6PS series bring out the sparkle of the crystal lattice in a LAB 5 and a JC-120. Didn't BB King get his LAB 5 recapped with them?

Re: Any Allan Holdsworth fans?
I forgot until the other guy's brought up seeing UK.
UK have recently reformed with John Wetton, Eddie Jobson and Terry Bozzio for a world tour in 2012.
Some info here. http://johnwetton.com/
No Mention of Holdsworth or Bruford.

Re: Any Allan Holdsworth fans?
I have seen him twice. Incredible. Got the first IOU Album based on EVH's praise I never really got IOU until after I got into Miles Davis and John Coltrane. It is funny reading the current Santana on Leno thread and a Holdsworth thread. ON the Santana some are unhappy that he doesn't play the same ...

Re: Hey, just curious - anyone in the Phoenix area?
Back to Az if Gary (glasswerks) is available he is always helpful and a great guy to deal with. I just haven't dealt much with Shad or Henry, nothing bad to say about either. Besides having a sweet spot for that Runnin' on Empty Sound, I think Mr. Dave's endorsement goes a long way with me. https://...
