Re: My Express build
Thanks NG, For my pre-amp, it isn’t my layout. It’s a Soldano x88r layout. My rhythm channel is modified, and I modified a switching circuit for add a Midi controller. I programmed a microcontroller for that. I also add a regulate DC for tube filaments. I only saw a Soldano x88r with this design met...

Re: My Express build
Mark, the frontpanelexpress.com will change the face of your amps. :D About my English: I’m studying it in the evening course for my work, and also for my hobby. Before that, I studied computer science and software development at university. I really need English to find a good job in my domain in N...

Re: My Express build
Mark, I’m glad you used my information for your faceplate. I can't really describe my amp sound, because it isn’t easy to describe an amp sound and my English isn’t very good. But, My amp sound is fantastic. My amp is quiet and have a very good dynamic. It has a lot of gain and I can control it. Fra...

Re: SS Pots (proper grounding) Is this mic on??
This article tells about hydrochloric acid based fluxes. It's for this reason, I’m not used the regular acid flux solder and I used phosphoric acid. I read in other article, this article says, “Phosphoric acid-based fluxes are generally suitable and have the advantage of being innocuous if any resid...

Re: SS Pots (proper grounding) Is this mic on??
You can solder stainless steel if you use a phosphoric acid based flux. The steel surfaces must be clean. Use an abrasive paper or a green 3M Scotch-Brite pads for that. A large, hot iron is recommended. The solders with phosphoric acid must be clean with water after soldered. I use a toothbrush for...

Re: My Express build
Mark, The thickness of this faceplate is 2.0 mm. It’s thick with Allyn Meyers chassis. It’s good for PEC or Clarostat pots, I’m used these in my Express. Perhaps with Bournes is ok. I never used this pot. I think it’s too thick for Alpha pots. I hope your pots are good for that. The software works w...

Re: What Type or Brand Solder Do You Use?
I use the Kester 63% tin and 37% lead rosin core. This solder is also eutectic, but it has a regular price.

Now, I don’t have samples. Maybe if I play in a studio, I'll have them. Sometimes I play with a friend at studio Économique in St-Henri.
