Re: Ceriatone OTS Bluesmaster Mods

Hey Justin, I've got a 100w C-tone BM as well, Hopefully I can help out some. First off, I'm playing with a Les Paul, so Strat values will vary. The BM is a bit bassy (not too much, but somewhat), so I usually set the bass low. I don't use the Deep switch. I also don't use the mid switch, as I feel ...

Re: Recommendations - Mods to Ceriatone Bluesmaster 100w

Maybe try what some folks call "megaplex" where you change the OD "HRM" tonestack from the plate to a cathode follower type. First things first though- spend some time dialing in the HRM trimmers and the rest of the amp as is (OD trimmer, phase balance, bias, etc.). Ah, so that's the "megaplex" voi...

Re: Recommendations - Mods to Ceriatone Bluesmaster 100w

I don't what to be a pest, but does anyone know the "JM" mods? Does anyone wish to talk about the BM mods? Do search on Mark and my experiences as documented. No point in reinventing the wheel I say. Stephen the best advice I can give you is to forget about who said what about the trimmers get out ...

Re: Recommendations - Mods to Ceriatone Bluesmaster 100w

If a smooth singing OD tone was what you were after why did you go with a BM.. :? Tony That was my exact thought as well. TM Agreed, Gents. Thing is, when I ordered the amp, I was not nearly as savvy (and did not have nearly as good an idea of what I wanted) as I do now. So I guess what I'm thinkin...

Re: Recommendations - Mods to Ceriatone Bluesmaster 100w

Honestly, Mark, I am not clear on that question. All I know is that all the BM's coming out of Nik's Place after Jan 2010 had the "JM mods".

Recommendations - Mods to Ceriatone Bluesmaster 100w

Hey Everyone, Well, I did a search on the forum but couldn't find a lot of info in one place; it seems recommendations were scattered around different topics. So, I thought it may be a good idea to assemble suggestions into one thread. Here goes: I've got a Bluesmaster 100w clone from Ceriatone, del...

Re: Advice on setting up HRM

I had a Klein and a C-lator (Ceriatone D-lator clone). Bought both when I bought my Bluesmaster 100w to be able to A/B them. My thoughts: Klein is great for a backup, but it doesn't add the warmth and "dimensionality" that the D-lator does. Also, I found that the volume ceiling in the Klein was less...

Hey Strom, I did exactly that, and it was definitely the problem. Thanks for the suggestion, though!

Re: Noise with My Dumbleator Clone (Ceriatone)

Wow, guys, thanks for the info. You guys are pros (unlike me, hehe). I will probably end up taking it to my tech, but if there is something I can do that doesn't require too much technical knowledge (I do have ample common sense). I'd like to know that. For instance, which wire was it that you snipp...

Re: Parallel-Series-Stereo Jack Plate $15

If running in stereo, do I use normal speaker cables to connect the heads or something different?

Re: Noise with My Dumbleator Clone (Ceriatone)

I was running the dumbleator off in order to test where the hum was coming from. Since I still got it when the unit was off, I assumed it was a problem with the cables or with the power. The unit was ordered pre-built from Nik, so I don't have it wired any strange way. I've attached the layout from ...

Noise with My Dumbleator Clone (Ceriatone)

Hey Guys, This is my first topic post here, so please forgive any noob-ish-ness. I've just received a 100w Bluesmaster and a C-lator from Ceriatone. Hooked them up, running George L cables between amp and 'lator, and I am getting a significant amount of hum on the amp. I'm pretty sure it's related t...
