Do the Blue Molds leak? Some of the Blue Molds were taken out of 2 of my amps and replace with HiFi caps. (Not what I asked for, lesson learned).
You Fellas are great! I feel really good about the reply, at least I know what to do now.
Thanks

mixed
This one was mixed. It had some round paper caps the dia of a 20 ga shell(I know that's weak), and some blue molds. I had it serviced and got it back with some hifi caps "Nichocon"(black). Is this acceptable, I ask for it to be as original as possible? I don't have beef, just want to get it done cor...

Brownface replacement caps
Any advice on best replacement caps for a Fender Brownface era amp. Are Nichocon's a good choice?
I was under the impression that Mallory 150 and Sprague Orange Drops where the "thing" to have.
This is for signal and filter both.
Thanks

Re: Another silly question about my Rocket?
Thanks Rob and everyone else for your kind replys. The amp is definitly an animal, it's like no other amp. I just need to find a way to harness it.
The dwarf tube Rocket sounds interesting, if it can parallel the amount of articulation and touch response.

Re: Using 2 of 4 Rocket Tubes
Thanks for the kind replys. I'll be checking the link out for sure, I appreciate the advice.
I have a mini mass, so I'll have to give atten a try.
I don't even know the watts of an EL84, I just know they're more powerful than they looked(LoL)

Using 2 of 4 Rocket Tubes
Hi, I have a Rocket clone by Two Rock. It's a Two Rock Custom, not the ruby. Has 4 EL84's. I was wondering since it's sooooo LOUD!, if you can pull 2 of the power tubes out? If so, which ones can you do this with. I have an old Peavey amp with 4 6L6 that I pull 2 out and it worked fine. Thanks for y...

Rocket tubes
Hi, I found the rocket was way too loud. It works well with ear plugs form me. Is it possible to remove 2 of the 4 output tubes? If so which ones would you remove?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Two Rock Rocket
Has a presence also. Actually, it doesn't. Well, not in the conventional sense. It has the regular old Vox Cut control that TR has implemented with the pot connected round the other way so that it acts similarly to a presence control in that it gets brighter as you turn it clockwise. They also use ...

Re: Two Rock Rocket
I read an article that 6 of these were made with 4 EL84's. Thanks for the info. Hey Casey, that's an interesting gadget, never new about that, Thanks The honeymoon is not over(only cranked it up once in house), but the amp seems to do what it's suppose to. Cleans are not as pretty in my opinion as a...

Re: Wire
That's a good observation. I used to test transformers for a living using Doble equip. Any change in physical placement or area will change the capacitance of the xfmr. The changes can be Pri to Grd, Pri-Sec, Sec-Grd. Grounded test and ungrounded test GST, UST. It makes since that it can change with...

Re: Two Rock Rocket
Well, I'll let you know how it sounds soon, they only made 6. I understand most of your are genuine amp technicians or guru's, I've only taken Navy electronic classes and done motor/PLC's for 20yrs. Have played amps all my life, but don't know the internals that well, except for here-say, needless t...
