There are external jacks on the back of the unit but it is the on-board console speakers that I was thinking about changing. I have some vintage jensen duax 12" 16ohm drivers. The exisitng 12" 8 ohm speakers are OK but wanted to try the jensens. Would the external jacks be in parralel with the on bo...

OK I see that now thanks, also...notcied that the output transformer shows a 16ohm tap. Could I install 16ohm speakers on this amp to replace
the current 8ohm ones by changing the taps?

I have found the schematic for my fleetwood console amp. Not sure how to read it yet so was wondering if there is in fact a need/way to BIAS the EL84's

Oh and Structo I kept all the original tubes, can't recall what make they were when I pulled them out i think they were RCA and also Fleetwood tubes. I can open the unit and check as I stored them inside with the boxes from the new ones. The guy (Joe) that owned this system was a big time ham radio ...

Thanks for the coments, OK so if I get around to changing the power cord I will use a grounded plug (three prong) and attach the green to the amp chassis correct?

Thanks to all for the responce. Trust me I have gotten the message about those voltages and will take extreme caution if I am ever inside the amp. I would first build the discharge lead as desribed and proceed with caution. I have always been interested in electronics/electrical workings so I have a...
