Re: Plate Volts in a D'Lite?
Thanks, Structo. This will be a 6V6 build. I have pretty much worn out on amps that I can't turn up hahaha. Those v's are about what I expected. Just didn't know for sure if I wanted some really low v's on V1 or not. Looks like the regular Fender rail will get me where I need to be. thanks again Cha...

Plate Volts in a D'Lite?
I have the schemos from here (many thanx for those) but I'm not seeing any voltages noted. I'm building this w/ an old power trans and it would be nice to hit the volts that make the D"Lite a delite. If anyone can help me out w/ this I'd certainly appreciate it. Even if you just show me where my agi...

Re: Do Screen grid resistors need to be 5w Dale rs5's?
Like I said, it's been a long time since I was in that amp, but I do remember replacing a handful of bits and pieces. All the screen and grid resistors, preamp plate loads, filters, bypass caps - I mean I went thru it. Sorta a PITA too since Traynor didn't do the layouts in a "logical" kinda Fender ...

Re: Do Screen grid resistors need to be 5w Dale rs5's?
I don't recall any shared 10watters in the YGK3MIII at all.. Doesn't mean it wasn't like that but the schemo I have doesn't have it either. I do remember replacing a raft of 1watters. Definitely NBD to me since whatever it was ain't no more. I built a PrincetonReverb w/ a 2xEL34 output into a Bassma...

Re: Do Screen grid resistors need to be 5w Dale rs5's?
Just an added thot - when I rehab'd my YGL3A I replaced all the screen resistors with 2watt flameproof. It had 1watt carbons in there and I'm guessing they were original. Had the original tubes too. No evidence of smoke. I had it a couple years and cranked it all the time. No smoke. I know the guy t...

Re: Do Screen grid resistors need to be 5w Dale rs5's?
Tony, with expensive NOS EL34s wouldn't it be safer to use 3W rather than 5W screen resistors? I just ordered a quad of XF4 Mullards from Gregg Levy and don't want to fry them in a #183 I'm planning. That's an expensive fireworks show! The best way to protect EL34's is to configure them the way Tra...

D'Lite with Reverb?
Has anyone built a D'Lite with the two triode reverb like the schemo? I'm interested in adding the 'verb and curious if the configuration works equally well on clean and OD.
many thanks

Re: Top Hat Club -is it any more than a lightning with 6V6's ?
I'd just like to echo chopstuck and ask if there are other/better schemos out there than the SH (same ones at freeinformationsociety) that may have been drawn up by persons used to doing that?
I have a couple ratty Traynors that are just really needing to be something else

Re: Mold growing on wiring
I use the brakeparts cleaner spray can stuff from auto parts stores to clean amps. A fraction of the cost of "audio quality" cleaners and the same stuff is in the can. Hose out the amp with it and the mold will be history. Make sure you get the non-residue type. This stuff is the hot trick for any g...
