Re: What would a Dumble ODS be worth if it had a blown PT?
Yes but maybe the seller would not tell that the transformer had been replaced. It really shouldn't matter to anyone that isn't the most picky collector whether or not the tranny has been replaced as long as it was replaced with the proper brand and vintage. I understand what you mean Struct...

OK. Thanks for the info Andy. BTW I've tried one of your ODS before. Love the sound of your amps.FUCHSAUDIO wrote:I replaced an output transformer, not a power transformer fwiw. I've never changed a Dumble power transformer ever.

Re: What would a Dumble ODS be worth if it had a blown PT?
Thanks for the responses. There is a guy that i deal with for trades and sales of used gear. He mostly deals with mainstream stuff, ie. Marshalls, Fenders, boss, etc., and not so much high end boutique stuff other than mabe some pedals like Fulltone etc. He told me that there was someone he knew, or...

If the amp does not power up and a replacement power tranny/supply was the main component(s) needed, what would it be worth? Late '80's or early '90's. And no, not previously owned by any big name artist.

Re: guess it worked
It's really too bad. I feel for Tag. He has had alot of bad luck the last while.
I'm curious too know how the clone amp went/or is going. If all goes good for Tag, he'll have some money in his pocket and a new clone amp to brag about.

Re: Soldering Iron Recommendations
Yeah those are nice but steep. I just found this one on Ebay. Not familiar with the brand but it looks pretty good for $90. http://cgi.ebay.com/Soldering-Station-digital-TMC-08-1000D-free-solder_W0QQitemZ370285463553QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item5636bbc801 Is the Hakko 936 station ...

Re: Comparison of Fender iron tone VS Music Man iron tone
Scott. Thanks for the comparison. I find it hard to tell the differences personally. I think the differences are very subtle. I know there's alot of variables when trying to compare amps by clips. I guess you really need to hear or try the amps in person to get the full impact of the way they sound ...

Re: Another Aussen clip w/Bludo HiVoltage&2290 -better tone?
THe MM Iron has more of a Thick wooly character to the Mids, and a more "woodwind" like low end artifact, the Fender Iron has more of a saturated Woof to the low end, and gives more when you lean into it. Thanks for the description Funk. I have original Twin Iron i intend on using in a 124 build, b...

Re: AussenJam 100 Skyline clip w/2290 - two diff verb mixes
I think they both sound great Scott. I don't know. It's hard to say. Both work. If i had to pick i would say clip 2 but not that i think it's really any better than clip 1.
Personally I just would'nt go any heavier on the reverb than clip 2 with the current mix that you have anyway.

Re: Another Aussen clip w/Bludo HiVoltage&2290 -better tone?
Sounds great Scott. And as always great playing. It sounds alot fatter than Robbens tone, mabe because of the tone settings and difference in trannies? I'm not sure what the 2290 settings are that you're reffering too. Anyway again, sounds great. A bit of a newb question here being i'm not that expe...

Re: Anyone selling head cabinets?
I recently bought a OTS cab from Nik for a chassis I got earlier. As I recall it was about $225 with shipping, I think he gave me a little break since I bought the amp from him (this was before I became a dealer/ service center). He did mention that because of the size the shipping was a bit high. ...

Re: Anyone selling head cabinets?
Gibson - who's chassis are you using? Or more to the point, what are the exact dimensions? odourboy: The chassis is the one from natchanis in thailand (i think). He has a site on the internet. It's the D replica, at least as far as cosmetics go. It's the 80's style one. The dimensions are just slig...

Re: Ceriatone
I checked Ceriatone $200 for the cab..... and $149 for UPS shipping to Canada!!! Where the hell is this thing coming from??? That's BS! Ceriatone lists the weight as 25 kg, that's 55 lbs. I don't believe that either. I had to check that myself and your right, Nik has it listed at 25 kg. I wonder if...
