Personally, I would stick with the Fender-style 30% taper, but again, either one will work just fine. Have fun with your build

FWIW, Tony, although I cannot vouch for every detail, I believe in the amp I played the slope resistor was the usual Sprague Q-Line, 150k 2% tolerance. Hope this is helpful

Tony, sorry for the late reply, I was busy with other affairs....No, this is not the amp I played, it was a 1x12 combo in a hardwood cab, with a EVM 12 inch speaker. AFAIK it is still somewhere in my vicinity, i.e. southern Germany. Sold for 800 DM then (late 90s) , appr. 400 USD
