Has anyone seen this already?

One of the cooler videos I've seen online:

I wonder if the guy's every made a 12ax7...

Re: simple question

ok, thanks! I just looked at the schematic and that seems really obvious now.

do I use any kind of special cap on those PAB/OD switches? in the pictures they look green, and I haven't seen anything like that. does it matter?

Re: simple question

One more thing, what type of 100v .1uf cap is used on the manual PAB and OD switches and in the footswitch?

simple question

Is the terminal strip on the jack side of the amp just for the FET input? I'm talking about the strip with one 20uf 500v sprague atom cap and a 2k2 resistor. Those caps are expensive, and I'd rather not get an extra one if I can help it. Is there any change I should make when taking out the FET inpu...

Re: Any #124 clips around?

Did you see this? https://tubeamparchive.com/viewtopic.php?p=71950#71950 Yeah, I saw that, but I thought since a lot of people seem to be making #124 "copies", I would make a parts list. I thought that could be a useful resource. I'm also a student, so the process of building the amp is (almost) as...

Re: Any #124 clips around?

Yeah, those look really nice. I think a lot of people use those here, but I would rather not have it say "Dumble" on the front and back. At this point I'm thinking I'll get a blank chassis and get some custom faceplates. On a separate note, I'm making a #124 parts list as I haven't found one on the ...

Re: Any #124 clips around?

Just a quick update about the Ceriatone chassis, Nik says he's still selling them. Is that what you guys would recommend? Or should I go with a blank chassis?

Re: Any #124 clips around?

Huh, I never thought about that... Is there a simple way to test 12AX7's for current draw? So if Nik isn't making the chassis anymore (I emailed him but he hasn't responded yet), what do people use? I've seen the Natchanis chassis, but I would rather not have "Dumble" all over the chassis... Is ther...

Re: Any #124 clips around?

I don't see any reason why it would not be just fine. Although I don't believe it makes much of a difference, as I also have amps with different transformers, that particular amp has a Marshall style PT and OT. That leaves the plates at about 485 VDC, so definitely hotter than what you get from a F...

Re: Any #124 clips around?

Wow. That's exactly the sound I'm looking for! Great playing, as well! Thank you very much!

Will the Ceriatone chassis be suitable for this amp?

Re: Any #124 clips around?

I've heard some really clean sound clips from ODS amps, but maybe they were 100 watters/turned down pretty low.

Anyways, I built an Allen amp for clean sounds, so the overdrive is really the sound I'm looking for!

Re: Any #124 clips around?

I downloaded the schematic and layout from the Files section of the forum. It's my understanding that those are as close as I could get to the original #124? Maybe this is a better question to ask: I'm mostly playing a Les Paul. I'm looking for a warm, sparkly clean sound, but the most important thi...

Any #124 clips around?

Hi everybody, I'm new to the board and I'm interested in building a clone of the #124 circuit without the FET input. I've built several amps in the last couple of years, but this would be 1) my first non-kit build and 2) my most difficult build. Are there any sound clips floating around? I've looked...
