"Preamp Dampening Pads"

Okay, on the inside of some of the original trainwreck photos you can see a strip of foam behind the preamp tube sockets. I'm assuming that's for "Dampening" the vibration around that area of the chassis. My question is--do any of you guys add this to your builds? I've been using vibration dampening...

Hey guys, just wondering--on that large power resistor that you can get from mouser, does it come with the adjustable tabs for the 6-11-16 settings or do you have to get them separately? I have not been able to find them at mouser for some reason...sorry for the dumb question, figured I'd ask. Nick ...
