Re: DIY Airbrake...
I made the Airbrake, but as I understand, this schematic is more suited to an 8 ohms load.. My speaker is 16 ohms, so when I use the Airbrake it is not very effective... So I gues it means I have to change the two main resistors.. Anyone know what would be the ideal values for a 16 ohms load?.. Thanks

Re: DIY Airbrake...
Hey guys,
These resistor values are optimized for a 8 ohms load.. What would e the values for a 16 ohms speaker instead as the 8 ohms version isnt very effective...

Re: New build. Afraid to flick the Standby switch!..Help!
I don't think the bulb should be lit at all. It usually flashes then goes way down as the caps charge. Double check your PT wiring. I am using Toneslut's trannies.... Hmmm... Now I am a bit confused as some people says that it is normal for the bulb to be lit and you say it shouldnt... I am sure th...

New build. Afraid to flick the Standby switch!..Help!
Hi Guys!! My Express is finally ready to be fired up... I have been using Ron's bulb limiter with a 60w bulb, and just went thru the inital startup with only the power switch on and no tubes, no speaker... Maybe everything is fine, but before I go off standby I want to be sure.... Here are my concer...

Re: How to prevent rotation of impedance switch?
Thanks guys!..
I chopped the tab off and did what Ron said... I used a star washer, between the switch and the inside wall of the chassis, and used a nut driver to tighten the nut, so the star washer 'bites' in the metal... Works perfect!!!

How to prevent rotation of impedance switch?
Hi everyone, My build is progressing well.. Now I am ready to install the stackpole impedence switch, but no matter how much I tighten the nut, the switch will loosen up dans rotate with the knob.. Did you guys use the anti-rotation tab on the switch, or you just chopped it off?.. That's what I am t...

Re: Express with VVR Schematic or Layout???
Thanks Dana, Very good idea to put them there.. Too bad I didnt think to buy spare turrets to modify the board.. I will instead install the caps and resistors directly on the input jack and volume pot.. One small question then.. For the input jack, there is already a 1M resistor there.. Do you add t...

Express with VVR Schematic or Layout???
I am building my Express with a VVR, and even though I understant how to implement it, I seem to remember someone posted a Ceriatone Expression layout with this already in.. I am particularly interested in the mods required to add the 2 caps and resistors... I have been trying to find it for the las...

Express with VVR2 Layout.. Will this work?
Hi everyone, I am at that crucial step when I am drilling the chassis to install the components of my Express build. I plan to install a VVR2 in there, but I find that the placement of the board is a bit tricky... I know Dana used can caps, but I plan to use the Mallorys... So, I think I might insta...

Re: Scumback M75 on the way.. Now a 1x12 or a 2x12 Detuned?...
Thanks again Glen for your insight.. I was starting to consider the TL806 design, but I will listen to your advice as, after all, it is after watching your vids that I went for a TW..:).. The 2x12 detuned really tempts me, but I know it boosts volume which is a bit contrary to what I want to achieve...

Re: Scumback M75 on the way.. Now a 1x12 or a 2x12 Detuned?...
Wow.. Thanks for all the info guys.. Glen: Dis you ever make a clip where you use that 1x12 instead of your usual 4x12?.. That would be very interesting.... I am thinking the same thing as you suggest regarding the detuned 2x12.. It could give me room to grow, but at the same time, maybe I"ll have m...

Scumback M75 on the way.. Now a 1x12 or a 2x12 Detuned?...
Hi everyone.. I am starting a TW build with VVR2 and also have a Scumback M75 65watts speaker on the way... Only bought one speaker because I dont what this thing to be too loud... Now, I am a bit undecided on what cabinet would be better.. Should I make a 1x12 closed back cabinet or use the speaker...
