Re: Cabinet Building quesiton
I recommended the zero clearance throat plate just so the piece is supported through the cut. If you don't have one you can make one pretty easily or Martins suggestion of tagging a support piece to run along the fence was a good one. The bevel doesn't leave a lot of wood to run along the table and...

Re: Cabinet Building quesiton
I have a 10" blade...will it get high enough? 10" blade will be fine. Generally you should not try to make the finish cut in your first pass. Make a rough cut to within 1/16" of your finished dimension and then make the finish cut with a blade specified for cross cutting and having 80 or more teeth...

Re: Amp Falls From Height of Six Feet and Survives (sort of)!
That is very interesting. I would have sworn that the warble was coming out of the speaker itself but obviously that was not the case.

Re: Amp Falls From Height of Six Feet and Survives (sort of)!
Is the reason that the effect is most present on higher notes due to their shorter wavelength as compared to lower notes?

Re: Amp Falls From Height of Six Feet and Survives (sort of)!
Oh good. I am not alone I see. Do you know the exact cause? Does the fan put out some weird oscillating EMF that the amp picks up on?

Re: Amp Falls From Height of Six Feet and Survives (sort of)!
Well gentleman, I have found the source of the problem. The amp itself is 100% fine. The source of the ghosting sound is............a ceiling fan. Yep. I was playing the amp this evening and it sounded great. I turned on the ceiling fan in the room and what do you know? The ghosting sound was back. ...

Re: Amp Falls From Height of Six Feet and Survives (sort of)!
I would have never confessed to that. It would have stayed between my and the priest. Ha! I don't know if I am better. In fact, I would argue just the opposite. I figure that confessing here on the world wide web is my way of atoning for my carelessness and hopefully the resulting embarrassment wil...

Re: Amp Falls From Height of Six Feet and Survives (sort of)!
Thanks to everyone for all of the suggestions. I really do appreciate all of the feedback. Caps and all other components are only two years old and visually everything looks fine on the inside (no leaky caps, broken joints, etc....). Time to get out the voltmeter,etc... and see what is going on in t...

Re: Amp Falls From Height of Six Feet and Survives (sort of)!
Thank you all for the advice. Now for another embarrassing admission; the amp sounded so good that eventually I sold all my other amps and cabs and now I don't have another guitar speaker laying about! I did plug headphones into the amp output and the problem remained so I figured the problem was in...

Amp Falls From Height of Six Feet and Survives (sort of)!
Okay, first, I am an idiot. For reasons that I will not go into my tube amp fell from a height of about six feet. Now when I turn it on, while it still "works", it does have a problem. The problem is that the notes played sound a bit out of tune. I do not know if oscillation is the correct term to u...

Re: Please Critique My New Schematic.......
Not to sound like I am pushing KOC's books, but TUT3 has a large chapter on just about everything someone would want to do with a champ / SE design. Everything from traditional to JCM 800 front ends to parallel output tubes. I designed a similar amp using their London power standard pre amp design....
